It’s like this every year in February. From the snowy Midwest plains to the eastern shore, Old Man Winter comes to us like dead man walking. Stalling cars, icing streets and driving folks to wonder, in the words of Shelley, “If winter comes, can spring be far behind?”

For 100 years, the crack of bats has answered that – the sights and sounds of baseball in the sun. From Stan The Man and Seaver to the Say Hey Kid. Baseball is our kindest sport, our yearly summons to live and hope anew. Leading us all on that great migration from winter into spring.

Here’s to the Boys Of Summer.
