I know, I’m only 1 of 6.1 billion people (give or take 6 billion) who will write about their favorite albums of the year.

Oh well.

Here they are, in particular order, my seven favorite albums of the year that make up my Top 5. Make sense?

Here goes.

I also have to add that if you don’t have these, I’ve included a link to AmazonMP3 where these are nearly all $7.99 or less. Go buy them.

5. Adele – “21
Predictable, I know. But this album brings a touch of Ella Fitzgerald-ness that nobody else touches in our era.

4. Colplay – “Mylo Xyloto
The song “Us Against The World” is an amazing ballad – maybe even their best song yet.

3. Abandon – “Control
Amazing album I listened to all summer long. Great album for road trips.

2c. Blake Shelton – “Red River Blue
I know, you’re going to make fun of me for the country selection. Shut up. I love every song on this album.

2b. Needtobreathe – “The Reckoning
If you don’t have this album, you’re a fool. Go buy it. If you don’t like it I’ll refund your money.
Actually, no I won’t.

2a. Matt Nathanson “Modern Love
My most listened to album on iTunes.

1. Foo Fighters – “Wasting Light
Hands down this is the best rock album of the year. Maybe even of the century.

So what did I miss? Tell me in the comments.

  1. Jesi says:

switchfoot? That’s what I was expecting. Where would that land?

  2. Tim says:

As I agree with you on most of these, and I also enjoy them very much, I will say you have great taste in music.* You’re welcome. The one I disagree with makes baby Jesus cry.

I would add Bon Iver and The Civil Wars and Kings of Leon to this list. However, this is not my blog so I should shut my pie hole. Or, on the interwebs, would it the type hole or pie finger?

*there are either too many or too few commas in this sentence.
